When a 15-word brevity contest based on prompt ‘Vanilla’ on AllPoetry popped up, my creative juices perked. A gently titillating scene emerged and words fell in place. Next time you have hot chocolate fudge ice cream, remember this and savour it.

Trees fascinate me, I stop and enjoy interesting trees that I see on the roadside during my weekend cycling rides. So when an AllPoetry contest for a brevity poem of 15-30 words based a tree picture popped up, I could not resist. Here it is, a love story between two trees as “rooted bonds”.

During a fast paced night ride as prep for LEL on Old Madras Road, the moon and cloud were in a sensuous embrace, a lovely spectacle to watch on the wee hours of Saturday. After a few minutes, they became conscious of us and hid quickly in the expansive dark sky.
