When Chethan Ram showed me a picture he had taken at the Malnad Trails of a serene mini waterfall so full of life, I could not resist assembling words to describe a fraction of what one can see and feel. Enjoy the creative “Slivers of silver”. (#230)

The everyday show
A beautiful photo of a falls at Malnad Trails by Chetan Ram in the Malnad Trails triggered my muse and worshippers flowed. Hope you enjoy the serene picture and the words that go with it expressed as a poem titled “The everyday show”. (#231)
Gentle
Trails seem to stir up images of unpaved rough and rumble that can be hard on your feet and make you suffer. Here is what I felt about the trail in “Malnad Trail Ultra” expressed as a short poem titled “Gentle”. (#228)
Jet Black
Many runners warned me about the torturous and scary 9KM trail loop between 82-91 in the Malnad Trail Ultra. In fact one of the runners at 82km rest area warned me not to go without a water bottle as it is a hard climb. I don’t carry a bottle and had to find a empty soft drink bottle that I could re-use. That is when I thought ‘this must be a lovely fun climb’ as…
Trail run experience
The beautiful set of opposites that ‘centres’ you is what a trail run does to me. A short poem on this as “Trail run experience”..(#227)
The CXO Run
The demands of a CXO compared to the long journey of Ultra and finally wooing the CXO for a 12-hour Ultra. Many ideas in my mind for new revenue to find Many problems to solve requiring strong resolve Many decisions to make and many actions to take Many meetings to attend lot of data to comprehend Many emails to respond wish I had a magic wand Many customers to meet a lot of time on…
stadium run
The weekend before last I did my first 36 hour stadium run. Turned out to be my second 100 miler run (161.5km), the distance curtailed by tendinitis on right knee (it is ok now!). Stadium runs are special, for they seem to get me to a state of zen many times doing the run. Here is my experience expressed creatively as a poem titled “stadium run”.
Hennur Bamboo Ultra
As I stepped in into my next year on earth, I became a member of the 100 miler club over the weekend by completing the 100 miler run (161KM, actually 162) in 32h 37m at Hennur Bamboo Ultra with my feet brother Nirav Patel! Loved it Nirav. A brilliant experience, all credits to Sushil Kumar Bhasin and Ankur Bhasin of Bhasin Sports. Here is the first poem on this experience. Ever grateful to Raj Vadgama…
Blessed am I
Could not resist penning about Sunil Shetty, a much loved runner in the community after seeing his picture post in yesterday’s FB.
Malnad Trail Ultra
A demanding trail with 2000m elevation over 80KM was made more interesting with slush due to prior rain. The no-loop trail of 80km under the canopy of trees caressed by coffee shrubs is just wonderful to run on. The slush due to pre-race day rain is something I did not enjoy, as I am yet to get comfortable with slush running. My first experience of slush was with Chennai Trail Marathon (50KM) a few weeks…
