Today I went to register and collect the jersey/brevet card for LEL. Whilst riding though the open countryside, It was lovely and I had to stop and write the seeds of this poem below. Written at Harlow, UK.

Airplanes draw lines in the sky
Wooing the gentle cottony clouds
Whilst the sun gently basks behind
And the blue sky plays Cupid
The lines curve to form the heart

”Tis the season of Summer
Warmth and love around
New life emanates from the ground

On the ground
Pretty flowers yellow, pink and violet
Giggle at me as I ride in my shorts
Manicured lawns in stately cottages
Bless me as I go past
The gentle cool wind
caresses me all over
The lazy sunlight
warms my heart
As I pursue my goal
of discovering my soul

Oh the joy of riding leisurely
in the English countryside
