eyes gouged

During my weekend long cycle ride exploring the city, the gaping holes in the erstwhile HMT factory buildings now dilapidated, caught my attention. Seemed liked eyes have been gouged out in old age. Here is my feeling on this as poem “eyes gouged”.

north & south

Pure friendship not mistaken for any other relationship is certainly good stuff for the movies especially when it involves the opposite sexes. Inspired by a story of person where their friendship froze, due to mistaken notions by others, here is a creative take based on magnets as “north & south”.

cask

Yesterday my good friend shared his wonderful experience of spending ten days in absolute silence and quiet as part of Vipassana meditation course. The result – Calm and loving, Observing not reacting,  Alert & expansive, his life has reached a new high. While cycling back home from work today evening, the cacophony of honking triggered my  muse. It mixed yesterday’s conversation along with today’s poem ‘The bottle’  to come up with ‘Cask’, personifying Whisky.

Orange Soda

Sai Nellore in his comment on my previous poem “Luva” suggested <Next you can think of some orange Fanta-like drink from “Lavazza”. But how can you make it “hot”?> and provoked the muse. Here is the response as another one “Orange Soda”. Thank you Sai. If you want to read “male version” of this read the next poem post “Goli Soda”.

Luva

Sai Nellore posted a lovely video of the flowing river of lave(Pahoehoe) and asked “Anyone wants to go for a swim”. My muse perked up and I commented on his with a poem. Here is the same as a poem poster titled “Luva”.

Honey

My good friend Rajiv who has a lovely Cocker Spaniel befriended a stray and it came to live in his open portico. He named her Honey and whenever we met during our dog walks, she was always prancing away to glory, full of life and zest. One fine day she suddenly left, to heaven. Here is my creative on her as “Honey”.

We continued to smile at each other many times, I vividly remember this after nearly a decade.

The city of boiled beans

Having come to Bangalore in 1973, when people were gentle and peaceful, I was keen on the centurion #sillyconCity micro-story to be a one on hope, rather than sharp sarcasm. Of course there is gentle sarcasm here, but I guess the overarching philosophy is greater!
Enjoy the double – a gentle uplifting #sillyconCity micro-story and a poem!
