Revving up

Snorting does not get you out of a traffic jam. On a return commute to home, at a busy and jammed junction, a Thar Jeep guy who has done up his vehicle for rough riding revved his engine multiple times in the faint hope of getting through. Well , snorting did get him ahead. I wiggle though and get much ahead of him. Later he is at my tail again, snorting, I smile and wiggle…

Weekend rides

He saw his flabby paunch in the mirror.  Then he saw the lean and curvy cycle in the store. The bike lured him. He got her home and decked her up(with accessories). Pavement family

Amidst the busy humdrum of traffic live a family on the pavement. From the Hindi belt, here in Bangalore now to making a living, they make lovely plaster-of-paris artefacts that they sell on the pavement. Doubles riding

As I cycled to office today through the torturous morning traffic, I saw them on the other side of the road. A couple on a black Hero cycle, with the lady at  back, happily chatting and enjoying their ‘doubles ride’ on the right most lane, unmindful of the cacophony on other side.  Beautiful sight, don’t you think? #sillyconCity (4)

Deep dish

Last Saturday I did the Roller Coaster 200km brevet. This is where my tryst with brevet started in the year 2011. Titled “Huliyadurga 200” then, the route was kinda similar to this where we circled in the opposite direction. And this is where I met Somaskanda S  first. Thank you Mohan Subramanyam for this lovely route and rekindling the lovely memories. This route took me past Byalu where the giant dish antennas peer into deep…

The daily kiss

Their hands touched innocuously when they were riding. Temperature spiked, their eyes locked and oblivious to traffic around them, they were engaged in a passionate conversation loudly. A crowd formed behind them, curious. A shrill melody of honks followed like the 21-gun salute! Don’t let your imagination go riot! This is the daily kiss that happens between motorists on the crowded old airport road in Bangalore! Who says BLR roads are stressful ? Commute by cycle…
