sacrifice

The meaning of sacrifice is : “An act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.” (Courtesy Oxford English Dictionary) Am truly disturbed by the senseless killing of birds/animals in the name of sacrifice, which sadly is not. One of the mindless customs that we practice without realising “that God is life and Life is God”. “All I can do is to vent by shedding poetic…

My dear friend Mohan a wonderful cyclist who after a hard brevet in the mountains of Spain who after having a few beers at a Spanish bar posted “Best cocktail ever had with beautiful bartenders at your service….” Could not resist penning a quick one for you dear Mohan ! Cheers!

wires

The zillion hanging wires that are the bane of modern India seemed one day to communicate to me something profound which I have penned creatively as “wires” So the next time, when you see the terrible tangle in your neighbourhood, don’t be upset, learn from them!

who am I

After Mohan drank, I wrote a poem on which Karthik commented  “Ash-ji you should have had been poet instead, high time to think over it”. Mohan’s nasha crept into me then and triggered the question in me as to who I am. Here is a creative take on it as “who am I”. When I finished writing this, I remembered the face of Nayana Prasad, the lady with a golden glow and a lovely smile who made our day wonderful as we entered our office (VeriFone India) many many years ago.

Count life years backwards

All of us especially in Bangalore get frustrated by the garbage in the neighbourhood. Today morning during the morning walk, me and my good friend Hari were chatting on this and our helplessness in solving this. He said it is not worth getting frustrated about this, to which I agreed and stated that we are  “counting life backwards”. Here is the creative spin on the garbage issue and staying positive as “Count life years backwards”….

Oh, the joy of word smithing

I started playing with words in Dec 2016 and and enjoyed word smithing, resulting in poems. The transition from writing experiences as posts to a more tighter form of expression as poetry has been very interesting and joyful. I experimented with poster making along the way, and enjoy making the poem posters that I post now. Just like cycling in 2011 and running in 2013 that helped me experience Zen via movement, the act of…
